Simulation and Protection of Reignition Overvoltage in Wind Farm Considering Microscopic Dielectric Recovery Process of Vacuum Circuit Breaker

The high amplitude and steep overvoltage generated by the breaking of vacuum circuit breaker in wind farm damages inter-turn insulation transformer. There is a certain difference between simulation results traditional reignition model measured overvoltage. It necessary to improve simulate condition transformer more accurately then select appropriate protection measures. In this paper, based on physical process dielectric recovery during opening breaker, strength built arc breaker. was applied compare effects RC snubbers, surge arresters, choke coils. show that times calculated proposed paper are closer values. Compared with linear curve model, accuracy increased 24% 51.2%, respectively. parameter value connection mode combination coil have an influence suppression. Finally, suitable suppression scheme installing combined arrester high-voltage side connecting series, which can limit phase-to-ground voltage phase-to-phase 2.43 p.u 3.24 p.u, respectively, reduce steepness from 157.2 kV/μs 22.3 kV/μs.
